Στην είσοδο του λιμανιού των Χανίων βρίσκεται το Φρούριο ΦΙΡΚΑ το οποίο κατασκεύασαν οι Ενετοί (1204-1669). Στην είσοδο του Φρουρίου αυτού βρίσκεται το Ναυτικό Μουσείο Κρήτης που ιδρύθηκε για να στεγάσει και να διαφυλάξει τις Ναυτικές μας παραδόσεις.
